Preparing Ourselves for Spring By Corinne Bonafino Sherman (An article inspired by a scheduled Workshop Series) 03/20/2011
Feeling positive energy, such as what I receive as I read through these hellos, certainly puts a smile on my face and warms my soul.
Speaking of warming...
Michigan has certainly shared in our country's unusual winter this year. With the arrival of sunshine and warmer temperatures, we are each given a sense of "refreshing" and positive change. This “refreshing” carries thought of spring cleaning (indoors and outdoors), planning a garden, sports events with our children, vacations, etc.
Why do we find pleasure with some, if not all, of the activities I mentioned above… and yet, when it comes to thinking of ourselves, we have a tendency to be Debbie Downers? I am hoping, through this Workshop Series, to replace Debbie Downer with Enlightened and Empowered Ellen or Edward. 
Another thing most people think of with the coming of spring is wearing less clothes... which means, revealing more skin... or, having to remove some of the layers of baggy clothing we’ve been hiding under all winter. Some shudder at the thought of it! I can sympathize with this because I have struggled with weight GAIN for most of my life, and I, too, have shuddered, at times, with thoughts of revealing more of my body.
Have you ever noticed how much better you feel about yourself after you have made positive changes? An example of this would be joining a gym. You've gone for a week... have the aches to prove your hard work... and you begin to feel better about your body. Perhaps you even put on different clothes because you feel more confident. Does this resonate with anyone?
In actuality, that first week did NOT make that noticeable of a difference in you physically. It was the change in your confidence level that allowed you to wear different clothes... allowed you to feel better about yourself. That is what made your clothes look better… confidence! And one area to gain this confidence is through enlightenment. Through nutritional enlightenment, you will gain the ability to make the right choices for your unique you. My goal is to enlighten each of you… giving you the tools to make changes each week. For those that embrace this Series, you will see substantial changes, not only in your weight… but in your confidence as well. Week after week, month after month, you will gain noticeable improvement in other areas as well. Some of these areas could be your physical health, mental health, how you handle stress, energy levels, stamina, etc…
So... while we prepare our homes and families for spring's activities... let's not forget about ourselves. The energy we put into self-improvement not only multiplies the quality of our lives, but also the quality of our relationships and living our purpose with vigor.
